Serving our Seniors (SOS) does not provide financial assistance to pay utility bills.
This program is designed to help identify LADWP customers aged 62 years or older who may be in need of California Department of Aging (DOA) services, such as Meals On Wheels, free meals, transportation to doctors’ offices and clinics, assistance with applying for Supplemental Social Security benefits, obtaining at-home nurse or housekeeping services, and emergency medical aid.
How does it work?
Seniors who are potentially in need are identified by LADWP employees at Customer Service Offices, while handling customer service calls by phone, or out in the field. We transmit relevant information to the DOA for them to contact the senior and provide information about appropriate social and health services that are available.
Seniors can receive a referral to this program by asking any LADWP representative they come in contact with in the community, over the telephone, or inside one of our Customer Service Centers.
