Norma Grubb
Norma Grubb, DPS, AIGP, is LADWP’s Chief Information Officer and Chief AI Officer (CIO & CAIO) replacing retiring Mona Guirguis and overseeing the Information Technology Services Division. She comes to LADWP from Pacific Gas & Electric Co. (PG&E) where she was most recently the Enterprise AI & Data Science Director leading the development of cross-functional governance (cybersecurity, information privacy and information management, ethics and compliance ) as well as use case roadmaps and Center of Excellence activities for the effective implementation of AI, Generative AI and Machine Learning solutions. She also previously served as PG&E’s interim director of Data Management leading data governance and data quality programs, and also Director of Data Science leading data science programs that provided AI-based solutions while developing standards and processes in data science and analytics to support data science teams across the company.
Norma has more than 25 years of experience and expertise in the information services, data science, data management, and AI space. She is a certified AI Governance Professional and former university guest lecturer at the graduate level. As a CIO & CAIO at LADWP, she will lead a transformative IT strategy to drive our future in technology with a focus on advancing enterprise resource planning (ERP) initiatives. She will also leverage AI technology and expertise to support our strategic vision, enhance operational efficiency, streamline processes through hyper automation, predict asset lifecycle, and improve customer service.
Norma has a Master of Science in Information Studies from the University of Texas, Austin, and a doctorate in Information Management with dissertation work on AI from Syracuse University. Outside of work, Norma enjoys listening to the opera, and playing southern American blues on her bass guitar.
