Building Momentum in 2026 Through Modernization and Transparency
Director's Message
As we welcome the start of 2026, I want to extend my warmest wishes for a healthy and successful New Year. I also want to thank each of you for your continued partnership, engagement, and support throughout the past year. Your participation plays a vital role in helping the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power deliver safe, reliable, and sustainable service to our customers and communities.
In 2025, Supply Chain Services made meaningful progress in modernizing and strengthening our procurement processes. This work was guided by industry best practices, thoughtful analysis, and valuable feedback from our vendor community. As we move into 2026, our focus will be to build on that momentum by enhancing clarity, consistency, and transparency throughout the procurement lifecycle.
This year, you will see improvements that make it easier to interact with LADWP solicitations, understand our requirements, and stay informed. Our modernization efforts include refining solicitation documents, strengthening instructions and evaluation criteria, and streamlining communication to better support vendors at every stage of the process. These updates are designed to promote fairness, reduce ambiguity, and ensure that all vendors—whether new or longstanding partners—have equal access to opportunities.
Transparency remains a core priority for our procurement operations in 2026. We recognize that timely and clear communication helps vendors plan effectively, improves proposal quality, and supports a more competitive marketplace. As part of our ongoing improvements, we are working to provide more visibility into upcoming solicitations, enhance guidance materials, and provide greater clarity on expectations and timelines.
We appreciate the expertise, innovation, and dedication that our vendors bring to LADWP’s procurement efforts each year. Your contributions support our mission to deliver reliable service, modernize critical infrastructure, and advance sustainability across the City of Los Angeles.
On behalf of Supply Chain Services, thank you again for your valued partnership. We look forward to working with you throughout 2026 and to sharing updates on additional modernization efforts and opportunities in the months ahead.
Wishing you a productive and prosperous New Year.
