Joanne Martin

With a background in creating and supporting work cultures that support safety, compliance, quality, and results, Joanne Martin joins LADWP’s executive team as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer. She will lead our risk management and compliance efforts and ensure our operations meet the highest standards of quality, compliance, and governance. Joanne will also oversee the operations and activities of Risk Management, and Ethics and Compliance.

Joanne is a long-time utility professional with more than 15 years of service at PG&E. She most recently held the position of Senior Director of Safety and Quality Management where she designed and built an electric safety program management office that drove safe outcomes and achieved the lowest rates in electric operations for days away, restrictions or transfers and preventable motor incidents in five years. She also drove risk reduction and improved compliance and quality in accordance with regulatory and organizational requirements. Her experience also includes roles as PG&E’s Director of Quality Management, Manager of Work Planning and Readiness for Electric Transmission and Distribution, and Performance Metrics and Analytics Supervisor.

Joanne has a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies with a focus on the culture of US business management from University of California, Berkeley. Go Bears! Joanne has three children and three grandchildren. Along with her husband, she tends to her family’s cherry trees and looks forward to their annual harvest.
