As we advance our 2026 focus on procurement modernization and transparency, Supply Chain Services is expanding its efforts to include a renewed emphasis on contractor performance and contract accountability.

Modern, transparent procurement doesn't stop at the contract award —it extends through the entire lifecycle of the contract’s execution. Ensuring that goods and services are delivered in accordance with agreed-upon specifications, timelines, and performance standards is essential to safeguarding public resources and maintaining operational reliability.

As a public utility, LADWP holds a fiduciary responsibility to manage ratepayer funds prudently and to ensure that all contractual commitments are fulfilled. When performance challenges arise, they can disrupt project schedules, reduce operational efficiency, and strain resources. By strengthening our focus on contractor performance, we aim to address concerns proactively, reinforce expectations, and promote consistent compliance across all contracts.

In the coming months, vendors may see increased attention from our staff to performance monitoring, documentation standards, and contract compliance requirements.
