State of California Incentives

  • California Clean Fuel Reward: Due to limited funding, the reward amount has been temporarily reduced to $0. The Program will continue to be monitored and restored if/when conditions change
  • California Center for Sustainable Energy™ Clean Vehicle Rebate Project: Consumers who purchase or lease an eligible battery electric vehicle or plug-in hybrid electric vehicle may be eligible for a state rebate of up to $2,000. The exact amount varies depending on vehicle type. Additionally, certain low and moderate income consumers are eligible for an increase of $2,500 to the standard rebate amounts. Note: CVRP funds are nearly exhausted and the CVRP website now says applications received on or after September 6, 2023 will be place on a standby list and not guaranteed a rebate.
  • California law allows single-occupant use of high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes for qualifying clean alternative fuel vehicles. More details: California Environmental Protection Agency Air Resources Board.

 

Federal Incentives

  • Consumers who purchase a new qualified plug-in electric motor vehicle may be eligible for a federal tax credit of up to $7,500. The exact amount varies depending on vehicle type and the credits are phased out over time. More details: U.S. Department of Energy Alternative Fuel Data Center.
